[Scene: Central Perk, Chandler, Joey, Phoebe, and Monica are there.]

Monica: There's nothing to tell! He's just some guy I work with!

              말할 것도 없어 그냥  직장 동료라고!

Joey: C'mon, you're going out with the guy! There's gotta be something wrong with him!

          그럴리가, 너랑 데이트 하는 남자! 분명 어딘가 문제있는 놈일걸!

Chandler:  So does he have a hump? A hump and a hairpiece?

                   혹시 혹이 있나? 가발도 쓰나?

Phoebe: Wait, does he eat chalk?

               잠깐, 그 남자 분필먹어?

(They all stare, bemused.)

Phoebe: Just, 'cause, I don't want her to go through what I went through with Carl- oh!

             그냥 내가 칼 때 문에 고생한거 얘도 안당했음 해서

Monica: Okay, everybody relax. This is not even a date. It's just two people going out to dinner and- not having sex.

               다들 진정해라.  이거 데이트도 아니야. 그냥 두 사람이 만나서 저녁 먹고 세수 안하는거야

Chandler: Sounds like a date to me.

                그게 데이트 같은데

이상한 꿈

Chandler: Alright, so I'm back in high school, I'm standing in the middle of the cafeteria, and I realize I am totally naked.

               옛날 고등학교 식당 한가운데 서 있었는데, 보니까 완전 홀딱 벗고 있더라고

All: Oh, yeah. Had that dream.

      그래 그런 꿈 꿔봤지

Chandler: Then I look down, and I realize there's a phone... there.

                근데 아래쪽을 보니까 전화기가 있더라고. 거기에

Joey: Instead of...?

         그거는 없고..?

Chandler: That's right.

                 그렇지

Joey: Never had that dream.

         그 꿈은 새롭네

Phoebe: No.

             그러게

Chandler: All of a sudden, the phone starts to ring. 

                 근데 갑자기 전화기가 울렸어

                 and it turns out it's my mother, which is very-very weird, because- she  

                 never calls me!

                 근데 받아보니까 엄마더라, 이상한건 엄마는 나한테 절대 전화 안하거든

going out은 상대적으로 격식이 덜하고 일상적으로 하는 데이트, date는 상대적으로 정중하거나 격식 있는 표현에 가까운 데이트

다만 두 표현 모두 데이트를 뜻할 때는 문맥에 따라 의미가 크게 달라지지 않고, go out은 데이트를 가리키는 대표적 표현으로 널리 쓰입니다.
